Is Sakeena a dating or matchmaking app?
No. Sakeena is only for couples who are already married. It is a private space for a husband and wife to grow closer, worship together, and work through the ordinary ups and downs of married life. There are no profiles to browse, no strangers, and no matching of any kind.
What does Sakeena actually do?
Each day you and your spouse answer a shared Connection Card question privately, then reveal your answers to each other. Beyond that, you can track your salah, Qur'an, dhikr, fasting and sadaqah together with accurate prayer times and a qibla compass, work through gentle check-ins and a guided repair flow when something's hard, follow Islamic marriage learning tracks, and keep a shared timeline of memories and milestones. It's built to bring the sakeenah Allah places between spouses (Qur'an 30:21) into your everyday routine.
How much does Sakeena cost? Is there a free trial?
Sakeena is a paid subscription and there is no free trial. You can download the app and create your account for free, but full access — the Daily Connection Card, worship tracking, learning tracks, repair tools, and more — requires a subscription. Current pricing is shown right inside the app on the subscription screen, since prices vary by region, and one subscription covers both spouses in your household. You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID subscriptions.
Who can see the answers, notes, and reflections I write?
Your private answers stay private until you and your spouse have both responded — only then do they reveal to each other. Anything you keep as a private reflection stays yours alone. Your couple's data is stored on our servers and isolated per couple, so no other couple can ever see it, and in a plural marriage co-wives never see one another's data.
Does my spouse need to have the app too, and how does pairing work?
Yes — Sakeena is meant to be used by both spouses, since the daily card and shared worship only come alive when you're both in. Pairing is simple: one of you creates the couple and shares a one-time invite code, and the other enters it to link your accounts. From then on you share one connected space.
What languages is Sakeena available in?
Sakeena is fully available in English, Arabic, Turkish, Urdu, French, and German. Arabic and Urdu are supported in proper right-to-left layout. You can choose your language in the app, and each spouse can use their own preferred language.
Can I set my madhab and prayer calculation method?
Yes. Sakeena computes prayer times for your location and lets you choose from multiple calculation methods as well as your madhab (which affects the Asr time), so the times match how your family prays. It also shows the qibla direction and the Hijri date.
Is the content based on the Qur'an and Sunnah?
Yes. Sakeena is built around Islamic values, and its worship tools and learning tracks — covering the Rights of Spouses, Prophetic Marriage, communication, finance and barakah, and in-laws — draw on the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. It is a faith-centered companion for your marriage, not a substitute for a scholar, imam, or professional counselling.
Is Sakeena available on Android?
Not yet. Sakeena is currently available only on iPhone (iOS) so we can make the experience as polished as possible. An Android version isn't available at this time, but you're welcome to reach out and let us know you'd like one.
Is the intimacy content explicit?
No. The intimacy section is written modestly within an Islamic marriage framework and is never explicit. It's gated so it's only available to married adult users, and it focuses on closeness, kindness, and understanding between spouses rather than graphic content.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Your subscription is billed through Apple, so you cancel it the same way you manage any App Store subscription — in your iPhone Settings under your Apple ID subscriptions, or via the App Store. Cancelling stops future renewals; we never see or store your card or payment details, as billing is handled by Apple.
How is my data protected, and how do I delete it?
Your data is encrypted in transit, your password is only ever stored as a secure hash, and location (if you allow it) is used solely to compute prayer times and qibla — never sold or shared. We use only our own in-house, privacy-safe analytics that count feature usage, never the content of your answers, notes, or reflections, and we don't collect advertising identifiers or track you across other apps. You can view and edit your information anytime, and you can permanently delete your account and its data right from the app's Settings.
